A number of ber optic links have to go through a pannel separating two volumes hermetically insulated (vacuum, liquid, gas, temperature, radiations, etc.). A ber optic connexion is generally made of two male connec- tors with a female coupling part. It is this coupling part, with FC/PC, FC/APC or SMA interface, which will be the base of this range of hermetic feedthrough. A standard coupling part between two connectors is a precision part which allows the alignment of the connectors ferrules. In the hermetic feedthrough this coupling part is made longer and a piece of ber is glued inside to obtain an hermetic optical path. This ber is chosen to match the bers to be connected at each end of the feedthrough. The hermeticity between the feedthrough itself and the panel is obtained by a classi- cal ange and gasket solution.
